The solar power boom in Croatia shows no signs of slowing down, and this year has seen the emergence of a new trend—upgrading existing solar capacities. This trend is driven by several factors.
Primarily, it reflects the ongoing electrification of Croatia's vehicle fleet and a growing desire for energy independence among citizens. However, the main driver is recent amendments to the Renewable Energy and High-Efficiency Cogeneration Act, which now allow owners of home solar power plants to produce more electricity than they consume annually without losing their self-supply status.
This policy change has encouraged many to expand their capacities, as confirmed by Nenad Ukropina, a member of the Management Board at ENNA Next. This year alone, they have contracted over 100 upgrades.
