Jadranka Dumić savors yet another idyllic morning in Đurđekovac, where the soothing melodies of birdsong drift from the orchard behind her house. In recent days, they have been coming down to her garden more and more boldly, brazenly sprouting aronia twigs or pepper leaves. But, Jadranka does not mind their mischief. She enjoys their company, she feels as if she has escaped into the depths of the forest kingdom, even though, in reality, she has moved only about 50 meters from the main road of the settlement in the very east of the City of Zagreb.
Her idyll is interrupted by a call. Ivica, her husband is calling. She answers, unaware that his words will soon greatly change their everyday life.
"We got the plant!"
And just like that, without too many expectations and planning, the small town of Đurđekovec got its first solar power plant in history.
